Things that go bump by night by Mickeyns Things that go bump by night by Mickeyns
I always wanted to do something like this. I have been Batman fan since 1989, and I'm Hellboy fan for a long time. So here is a splash of this two.
This is a scene from the first Hellboy movie, when Hellboy jumps from the rooftops to stalk his love. She is with the agent... Hellboy is so much in love so he didn't saw Batman below. But he was there, trust me.
Hope you like it.

This artwork is unpublished.
Batman and Hellboy and all related characters and elements are the rightful property of Warner Brothers and DC Comics and Dark Horse Comics.

Nah. This one sucks. Better luck next time.

Batman's head is too large for the body, and your tonal values are all over the place. Squint your eyes, and see where your lightest lights and darkest darks are. Right now Batman is as much in the foreground as Hellboy's arm, and that doesn't make sense spatially. Tone down Bat's colors so that he feels more in shadow, especially that yellow belt. In fact, your colors over all are rather generic in saturation which again kills any atmosphere. Experimenting with traditional methods is key for color theory, and it is something you should do more. It gives you a more tactile understanding of the colors and will make your digital work much stronger.

The places where this works best is when you have the black outlines around Hellboy's jacket because it helps define the objects which allows them to jump out in space. But since you have other places with colored lines, they recede. And having Helboy's arm closest to us, but without the black outlines pushes it back, where as his coat jumps out at us. So choose one or the other and stick with it.

You should also work with your clothing. Bat's left shoe should have some folds at the toes where it is bent, and Hellboy's jacket by his tail isn't acting in the way a coat would.

Wow! Now that is a comment! Thank you!
This is the best I can do now. I gave my best on this one, the next one will be better. Making this Hellboy fan art helped me with understanding what I should practice more. I'm improving my anatomy skills now, and I will consider all of your comments.
It is always good when somebody like you, with your skills, give comment like this. Thanks again.

It was my pleasure. But in the future, when you make comments exactly like the one I gave in the first sentence, make sure you follow it up with an honest critique after it. I have seen more than one instance when all you say is something negative, with no actual critique as to why you feel that way. And it comes off very badly.

I'm sorry if I ever offended you in any way. It wasn't my attention.
